Real World Example of the LSD Test Kit: Low vs High Concentration
With the LSD test kit, it’s easy to see exactly how much LSD is in your sample.
As shown in the image taken at a drug checking mission, one vial has a faint color indicating a low LSD concentration (~30µg), while the other shows a strong color (~180µg) indicating very high contents of LSD.
This demonstrates that LSD potency can vary significantly from sample to sample, and what you think might be in your blotter isn’t always what it is. The LSD test kit makes it simple to measure LSD concentration, helping you understand exactly what’s in your sample for safer, more informed decisions.
Take-home message: The LSD test kit provides clear and reliable results, helping you quickly measure LSD potency and ensuring that you are fully aware of the true concentration in your sample—whether higher or lower than expected.

NBOME MISLABELING
Case Report: Identifying Dangerous NBOMe Samples with the LSD Test Kit
Real-World Case Report: The LSD Test Kit flags dangerous substances such as 25I-NBOMe when no LSD color change occurs. In a recent drug checking session, a sample labeled as LSD was tested with the LSD QTest, and no color reaction appeared, indicating the sample was actually 25I-NBOMe—a potent and harmful compound. By using the LSD test kit, we can identify mislabeled substances quickly and accurately, ensuring safer drug checking.
Case 1: 25I-NBOMe
A blotter labeled as LSD tested negative for LSD-25 and was later identified as 25I-NBOMe. This dangerous substance can cause severe reactions, especially if the mislabeling is unknown.
Case 2: 2C-E
Another sample, thought to be LSD, was found to contain 2C-E, a potent phenylethylamine. We were surprised to see 2C-E on a blotter, as it’s typically used in larger doses. We think its might be formulated to enhance bioavailability.
The LSD test kit is an essential tool for identifying samples that contain dangerous derivatives like 25I-NBOMe or DOx compounds instead of LSD. While the LSD QTest it is excellent for determining LSD potency, its key function is as well to immediately flag samples that do not show a color reaction for LSD, signaling the presence of potentially harmful substances. If no reaction occurs, it helps professionals identify mislabelled and possible dangerous compounds in the sample. By quickly identifying suspicious samples, the LSD test kit ensures safer outcomes in drug checking.
Take-home message: The LSD test kit helps identify potentially dangerous samples by flagging the absence of a color reaction for LSD. By excluding NBOMe and DOx compounds with the LSD test kit, users can immediately rule out some of the most dangerous and potentially harmful substances, ensuring quicker identification of risky samples.

CASE REPORT
Testing LSD Derivatives with the LSD Test Kit: Case Reports from offical state Drug Checking
During a drug checking session with the ALIVE Project, a participant submitted two samples labeled as 1cP-LSD and asked whether they contained "real LSD-25." Using the LSD QTest, we tested the samples to see how they reacted to the presence of this LSD derivative. As expected, neither sample showed a color change for LSD-25, confirming that both were negative for real LSD-25.
We've observed the same behavior with other LSD derivatives, including 1P-LSD, 1D-LSD, 1S-LSD, ALD-52, and ETH-LAD, all showing no reaction in the LSD QTest. This makes the LSD test kit an essential tool in drug checking, helping us distinguish between authentic LSD-25 and derivatives to ensure safer usage.
We routinely use the LSD test kit for this very purpose — to determine whether a sample contains real LSD-25 or just a derivative. If no color change occurs, it serves as a red flag, prompting further analysis to ensure the safety and quality of the substance. The LSD QTest helps us identify these potential concerns early, contributing to safer harm reduction practices.

LSD Mostly Contains just Half of the Expected actives: Insights from the LSD Test Kit
Many LSD blotters and liquids contain only about half of the expected LSD concentration. In our drug checkings (n=45), we found an average of 63 µg per drop in liquid samples and 53 µg per blotter. Similar findings have been reported by other European drug checking services, such as the DIZ in Zurich, which found that most LSD samples contain between 50.1 µg and 150 µg of LSD, often much lower than expected.
However, around 10% of the samples tested were found to have unexpectedly high potency, with stronger doses of LSD. This variability shows that LSD samples can fluctuate significantly, which makes testing LSD concentration essential.
Take-home message: The LSD test kit provides a simple and reliable way to measure LSD concentration, helping to identify variations in potency and promoting safer outcomes and informed decisions.

Other Drug Checkers confirm this theory
This is really nice graph from Check it, Vienna shows that basically usally its just half (~70 µg) of that what was expected (~190 µg). The same values we got at the german drugchecking with our LSD test kit.

Frequently asked questions about the LSD Test Kit
The LSD test kit is a scientifically validated tool designed to measure the potency of LSD in various samples, including blotters and liquids. It allows you to accurately measure LSD concentration and distinguish between LSD and potentially harmful derivatives, ensuring safety.
You only need a half of a blotter or one drop of your liquid to perform the test. Liquid LSD tends to settle at the bottom of the vial, for reliable results it is important to shake/invert your liquid carefully before testing. The result will tell you how much LSD-25 is in the tested sample. Remember that if you test it from a blotter to calculate the total amount of LSD-25 in a complete blotter, you need to multiply the results you get in the color chart by two.
When testing LSD on a blotter, you only need to use half of the blotter for the test. The result will show the amount of LSD (in micrograms) in that half. To calculate the total LSD content in the entire blotter, simply double the number shown on the color scale.
However, if you plan to consume the other half of the blotter, then the test result you get is already the total amount of LSD in that other half blotter, so no multiplication is necessary.
No, the LSD QTest kit is designed exclusively to measure the potency of LSD-25. It will not identify cutting agents or contaminants in your sample.
No, the LSD QTest kit is calibrated specifically for LSD-25. It will not work with derivatives like 1cP-LSD, 1P-LSD, or other similar substances. The test will not show any coloration for these compounds.
The LSD QTest kit works with blotters, liquid LSD in aqueous or alcoholic solutions, and gel tabs (depending on the type of gel). It does not work effectively with agar-based gels.
The LSD Test kit can work with gel acid tabs, but it depends on the type of gel:
- Gelatine-Based Gel Tabs:
- Place half of the gel tab in the extraction solution included in the kit.
- Heat the vial gently to approximately 50°C (122°F), ideally using a water bath.
- Once the gelatine dissolves, proceed with the test as usual.
- Agar-Based Gel Tabs:
- Unfortunately, this type is not compatible with the LSD QTest. Agar requires boiling to dissolve, which could destroy the LSD and invalidate the results.
Basically, everything you need comes with the box.
To prepare your sample, you only need the following, which you probably already have at home:
- A pair of scissors to cut your blotter in half
- A pipette/dropper to measure a drop of your liquid
No, the LSD QTest kit is a single-use test kit. Each kit is designed to analyze one sample for accurate results.
Using the LSD QTest kit ensures that you know the potency of your LSD-25, allowing you to make informed decisions and avoid potentially dangerous or unpredictable experiences. It’s a crucial tool for anyone committed to harm reduction.
Store the reagents at room temperature (35 - 68 °F / 2 - 20 °C) out of direct sunlight for a shelf life of at least 18 months. If possible: it is best to store chemical reagents chilled in the refrigerator.
